Frequently Asked Questions
- Sign Up, Login and Password Problems
-
The Bridge Network allows only members of the senior Great Britain Rowing Team to sign up for the site. When you sign up for The Bridge Network, you will need to use your personal email address and provide accurate account information on the sign up page. Once you have created an account you will want to keep a safe record of your login and password.
-
Signing up with The Bridge Network is required before you are able to enjoy any of the site’s features and build your personalized profile. When signing up, please ensure to provide accurate information and to review the Terms of Use.
- What do I need to do to sign up for this site?
-
From our Sign Up page, just provide us with your full name, email address, birthday, and desired password. Mostly importantly the year and event you represented Great Britain Rowing Team. After you complete the sign up form, we will send an email to the address you provided. Clicking on the confirmation link will complete the sign up process.
- I tried signing up but it told me my name wasn’t allowed. How do I sign up?
-
The Bridge Network disallows certain names and words in names that tend to be associated with fake accounts (e.g. Paris Hilton). In addition, using the name of a group or organization is not permitted, as The Bridge Network accounts are for individual use only. Also, we do not allow users to include titles in their names (e.g. Mr., Mrs., Dr., etc.).
- Why haven’t I been confirmed?
-
We didn’t forget about you. The confirmation email is probably sitting in your spam or junk folder right now. If you’re still having trouble finding it, we can help you out. Please follow these directions carefully:
- Send an email to info@thebridgenetwork.co.uk from the email address you attempted to register. For your security, we will not be able to confirm your account unless you send an email from this address.
- Please write your registration email address in the subject line of your message along with the word “confirmation.”
- Login and Password Problems
-
The Bridge Network prides itself on having a safe online environment. In order to assist us with keeping the site safe, please make sure to use your current email address for your The Bridge Network login and to use a secure password (i.e. a password only you know).
- I forgot my password.
-
It’s okay to forget things. You can reset your password by clicking here.
- How do I change my password?
-
If your old password isn’t cutting it anymore you can change it from the “Settings” tab on the Account page.
- My account is “temporarily unavailable due to site maintenance.” What’s going on?
-
“Site Maintenance” usually means that we’re making an improvement to the database that your account is stored on. While we’re doing this, you will not be able to access your account. In most instances, this maintenance will last only a few hours. A few other things to note:
- After the maintenance is over, you will still be able to login with the same password
- Your profile and account will not be affected by the maintenance
- There is no need to notify The Bridge Network of the site maintenance. We’re the ones doing the work, so if you see this notice, it means that we’re already aware of the issue.
- We don’t do site maintenance on all accounts at the same time, so it is possible that some of your rowers will be able to access the site while your account is unavailable.
- The password reset does not seem to be working.
-
Please follow these directions:
- Send an email to info@thebridgenetwork.co.uk from the email address you are registered under. For your security, we will not be able to change your password unless you send an email from this account address.
- Please write your login email address in the subject line of your message along with the word "password."

- On PCs: Firefox and Internet Explorer 6+.
Whenever possible, please upgrade to the newest version of these browsers.
- Why doesn’t The Bridge Network save my email address in the login box?
-
If you properly log out from the site, The Bridge Network prevents your internet browser from storing your email address in the login box. We remove the email address so that this information remains private. This is a privacy precaution meant to protect our users, particularly those who access The Bridge Network from a public computer.
- What is the “Remember Me” option on the login page?
-
The Bridge Network now allows you to store your login information, making it even easier to start using The Bridge Network each time you open your browser or return to your computer. If you check the “Remember Me” box, you will remain logged in to your account even if you close your browser program. If you want to logout of your account on any of your computers you must click “logout” at the top-right of any The Bridge Network page for each computer.
For privacy and security reasons, it is important to leave the “Remember Me” box unchecked when logging in from a public access computer or any shared computer. This feature should only be used on a personal and secure computer that you own.
